Serving the Church and the Community – Our Team
Except for pastoral and teaching roles, you don’t have to be a Christian to work or volunteer with us.
We are building a GREAT team! Would you like to join us? See our latest jobs here or contact us to volunteer.

Pastor Mathew Bartlett
Our Senior Minister
“I became a Christian in 1991. I served as Assistant Pastor for several years before becoming Senior Pastor in January 2007. My ministry is expository Bible preaching and teaching. The greatest joy in my ministry is to see people come to know Christ as their Saviour and watching them grow to love and serve him.”
Mathew has lived all his life in Pontypool and was a pupil at Trevethin Comprehensive School. After graduating from Cardiff University, he joined Torfaen County Borough Council before leaving to begin full-time ministry in 1999. He is a member of the British New Testament Society, with an MA in Biblical Studies from Chester University. He currently researches Graeco-Roman Rhetoric in Luke-Acts at Roehampton University, London (PhD part funded by the Saint Luke’s Foundation and Tyndale House). He is also pastor of Hope Baptist Church, Crosskeys. As a third-sector consultant he works to support secular charities as well as churches of various denominations across Gwent.
Mathew is 52 years old and has been married to Danielle for 18 years. They have one daughter – Elen.

Ever since I met Jesus for myself as a teenager, I’ve been encouraging children and their families to discover His love, grace and forgiveness for themselves too! Here at Living Waters, we run after school clubs, toddler groups, and Family Fun events, sharing God’s love through Bible stories, games, songs and crafts.
